Very fine quality Royal Worcester vase, double wall construction & reticulated decoration (probably by Owen) circa 1957 - Est £200 to £300 We have examined this lot closely and can see no signs of chips, cracks, grazes or restoration of any kind Quality is staggering. Double wall construction. Reticulated decoration and man called Owen working in Royal Worcester factory and it is made in his man in guilt with enamel. (Don’t know that he made it though) & revealed Chinese style decorations. Can date exactly by looking at dots. Start with 1892 and add the dots, brings to 1957 when it was made. Printed date code mark. Started from 1892 as there was sequence of date marks. Decorative piece.
Ault Pottery green glazed Peacock Vase, individualistic design, attributed to Christopher Dresser Est - £150 to £250 It appears to be in very good condition with no sign of chips, cracks or restoration.There is a small spec of white paint on the breast of the Peacock on one side. The height is approx 41cm From Pottery workshop founded by man called Aultin 1880’s (1887), when he left Bretby pottery. Individualistic design, attributed to Christopher Dresser who worked for Ault. Used for peacock feathers. Marked on base with name Ault and that he’s a vase marker. Glazed pottery, not finely moulded.
René Lalique vase - design circa 1927 A/F - Est £200 to £300 Work of Rene Lalique. First made jewellery. This sort of vase is more popular today. Designed in 1927, towards end of Laliques life. He was a student in England. Looks French with English elements. Vase has art deco design and is made variety of glass types. This is partly frosted and yellow. Yellow is what people like, associated with 1920-30’s. Item has three small chips to the rim and one larger, which is significant. Can’t grind out chips as it will affect the moulding. £700- £1000 if it was in good condition.
Martin Brothers vase circa 1903 - Est £80 to £120 Martin brothers were eccentric who founded Fulham factory in 1873. Specialised in grotesque birds and more humble objects for commercial market. The more humble item would sell but not as well as grotesque items. Oriental inspiration in simplicity of design. On base, marked Martin Bros, London Southall dated 1903.
