A George III mahogany side chair, circa 1765, in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, the serpentine top-rail above a pierced vase-shaped splat, the blue damask upholstered seat above square section front legsCondition Report: There are marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old chips and splits. Glued repairs, cracks and dowel marks where edges of top rail meet uprights. The uprights with plugged holes to the rear and patches of replacement timber suggesting this was once an armchair. The shoe has a gap around the pierced splat.Some minor evidence of old worm to underside of rear seat rail. A replacement section of wood has been inserted along the back seat rail.Later blocks glued inside the seat rails.Glued split to top of one rear leg (see images). One of the 'ears' of the front leg is a later replacement. Later blocks and screws to the tops/backs of the front legs (see images). Traces of metal fixings (?castors?) to the underside of the front legs.Dreweatts cannot guarantee the originality of elements beneath upholstery. A decoupage decorated stoneware stick stand, late 19th century, of large vase form and with pierced lid, 80cm high Condition Report: Overall there are marks, scratches, paint flaking, rubbing and abrasions consistent with age and wear. The decoupage is cut from fabric, rather than the usual card, and is applied to a painted ground which has aged, crazed and is flaking in some areas. The lid is made of turned wood, with a turned wood acorn finial, and it has split in half and been repaired with glue. The decoupage is peeling in some areas. There are chips around the rim. There is a distinct rib half way up the vase, and just below this there is a visible crack in some areas to the exterior. The corresponding crack is more clearly visible to the interior. The wood base and maroon painted under base are of a later date to the decoupage. Please see the additional images as a visual reference of condition.Condition Report Disclaimer

A near pair of Rozenburg Den Haag twin-handled porcelain vases,one dated 1911-12, the other 1914, each of twin-handled form, with painted decoration of peacocks and flowers, both decorated by Samuel Schellink, with painted and stamped factory marks to the underneath, signed with decorator monogram for Samuel Schellink, one with a crescent moon date stamp, used during 1914, 8cm square19.5cm high (2)Condition report: The 1914 dated vase with slightly rougher indentations toward the base, compared to the other example, where the form appears much smoother. The 1911-12 example leans slightly to one side in its structure. Both with slight asymmetry to the handles. The 1914 example with a dented handle. All dents referred to in the condition report are made pre-glazing of the vases. Some minor craquelure occurring in places. The 1911-12 example with some minor hairline cracks to the underneath. Some staining to the bottom of both. No detected chips or repairs detected.
