A fine early Carter & Co. stoneware vase, possibly a trial item by Matilda (Cissie) Collett, decorated with panels depicting children at play in the Renaissance style, dated 11.3.1920 with 'MC' monogram (16 inches). This is a previously unknown work entered by descent from the artist's family.
A fine early Carter & Co. stoneware vase, possibly a Trial item by Matilda (Cissie) Collett, decorated in a similar style to Portuguese Stripe. This design incorporates a mask similar to the vase top right of Page 28 Hayward & Atterbury, 'MC' monogram to base, circa 1920 (12 inches). (Provenance: as previous lot).
