Overall feint crazing and minor wear to the pattern. There is one burst glaze bubble to the foot rim as well as a small glaze scratch.

A Rare Large English Studio Pottery Jar / Vase – Malcolm Pepper. A heavily-potted stoneware jar of elegant form, coated both inside and out in a pale bluish-grey finely-crackled glaze and decorated in blue with various bands surrounding the body between which are flower blossoms. Made by the late renowned potter Malcolm Pepper (1937-1980) and bearing his impressed mark. Height 33.5cm (13.25 inches).Provenance: from the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton. Mr. Page was a friend of Malcolm Pepper and often visited his pottery, on occasion buying pieces “fresh from the kiln”.
A Pair of Tall Chinese Song Dynasty Qingbai Porcelain Dragon Vases. A true pair, complete with original covers. Each decorated with moulded and applied turtles, dogs and cockerels, also two dragons, male and female, facing each other under a sun. Below the animals are rows of twelve immortals. Also decorated with incised spirals and “piecrust” bands. Each vase topped with a conical cover on which sits a crane, symbols of longevity. Coated in a finely-crackled pale green qingbai glaze. Heights 62cm (24.25 inches) & 58.5cm (23 inches). Late Song Dynasty (AD 960 – 1279).Provenance: from the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton.
