Bernard Moore – Flambé vase of flared beaker form glazed mottled grey green over ox-blood, inscribed mark to the glaze and dates 1904 and 1905; together with a compressed conical vase with graduated ox-blood glaze, inscribed marks; and a Pilkington's Royal Lancastrian vase of tapered shouldered form, with mottled flambé glaze with iridescence, impressed marks, 11cm high and smallerThe “beaker” vase has several pockmarks from production and there are multiple scratches on the top half of the piece. Crazing is also present. The compressed vase has heavy patches of scratches in several places. The Pilkington has a few pockmarks and a glazing imperfection on either side.
Bernard Moore – Flambé vase of globular form with lustre glaze in shades of pink, purple and pale blue baluster form with lustre glaze in shades of ox-blood and celadon, both with inscribed marks to the glaze on base, 18cm high and smallerThe pink/purple piece has a few heavy scratches. The red piece has a large crack from the rim down around 2/3 of the vase then curves to the left and carries on for around 4 inches, there is a loss on the crack of around an inch. There is a glazing imperfection close to the neck around half an inch long and there are nibbles on the base
Bernard Moore – Flambé vase of baluster form enamelled in black with Chinese dragons highlighted in gilt on mottled red flambe ground; together with a Flambé solifleur vase, with flared neck over ovoid footed body, both incised BM to glaze on base, 14.5cm high and smallerThe piece with the dragons has heavy scratches near the rim and on the bulb of the body of the vase. There are also lighter scratches in multiple places. The plain piece has a scratch near the rim and some small production imperfections.
Edward Wilkes for Crown Ducal – a ‘New Spectria’ shoulder vase with blue green lustre over ox-blood glaze; a ‘Spectria Flambe’ solifleur vase of globe and shaft form with mottled black glaze over red; and another with mottled and running yellow, orange and blue with yellow ochre, all with printed marks; together with an E R Wilkes shoulder vase with silver lustre over streaked ox-blood, painted ‘E Wilkes’ to base, 16cm high and smaller (4)The short red piece has small heavy scratches in a few places, and there are pockmarks and bubbles present. The green piece has pockmarks. The red long-necked piece has a noticeable but small scratch near the top of the neck and some light scratches all over. On the yellow piece, the metallic glaze hasn’t taken well so has pooled at the bottom/underneath and has evidence of bubbling. Crazing and pockmarks are present.
Pair of 19th Century Bohemian overlay (white on green) glass table lustre vases, each of flared form, the lappet rim with medallions alternately painted with female portraits and floral sprays, raised on knopped stem over spreading circular base, 27cm high, (a/f)One of the pieces has a repaired crack about 1/3 the way around and down over the rim around 2.5 inches. The other has production imperfection where the white from the inside of the vase meets the green of the stem, it’s unlevel and looks like a crack but isn’t, there is also a small chip around the same area. Both pieces have gilt wear.
