Fidus (das ist: Hugo Höppener). Gral-Kakao und Golf-Kakao. Zwei Original-Entwürfe für Verpackungen der Kakao-Compagnie Theodor Reichardt in Wandsbeck-Hamburg. Aquarell und Feder in Braun auf dünnem Karton. Der Gral-Kakao rechts unter dem Ritter signiert, der Golf-Kakao zweifach monogrammiert. 1911. Blattmaße: jeweils 15,5 x 25 cm.Bei den beiden Aquarellen handelt es sich um letztlich verworfene Entwürfe für den bekannten Schokoladen- und Kakao-Hersteller. Das Archiv der deutschen Jugendbewegung in Hessen beherbergt den entsprechenden Schriftverkehr zwischen Hugo Höppner und der Kakao-Compagnie Theodor Reichardt in Wandsbek-Hamburg aus dem Jahr 1911 (AdJb N 38 182). Zunächst bemüht sich "Deutschlands grösste Kakao-Fabrik" (Briefkopf) sehr um den Künstler (Januar 1911). Für den Gral-Kakao wünscht man sich einen Ritter, "in dessen Gesichtszügen und Haltung sich die Gral-Idee, d.h. die Idee, einer reinen und heiligen Sache zu dienen, verständlich ausdrücken" soll. Und zu der Golf-Packung schickt man Höppner "eine Photographie von einem Bild auf einer Vase, welches einen von Bäumen umrahmten Ausblick auf einen Meerbusen darstellt" (Juli 1911). Trotzdem finden die "Rohskizzen der Gral- und Golfpackungen nicht den Beifall unseres Aufsichtsrates" (Oktober 1911) und werden an Fidus retourniert. Höppners nachfolgende Geldforderung von 600 Mark hält man für "ganz ungerechtfertigt hoch", da man "ausdrücklich nur ganz flüchtige Rohskizzen verlangt habe", Höppner habe "stattdessen sorgfältiger ausgeführte Farbskizzen gesandt" und somit "den Rahmen unserer Verabredung dadurch überschritten". - Sehr gut erhalten. - Provenienz: Aus dem Nachlass von Hans Friedrich Geist, dem künstlerischen Leiter der Lübecker Overbeck-Gesellschaft.

Kapoor, Anish. Chastre (Les Objets d'Artistes: A Vase). Dreiteiliges Keramikobjekt aus unglasierter Keramik und Terrakotta. Auf der Unterseite des mittleren Teils mit der eingeritzten Signatur, Datierung und Titel "A. Kapoor 1993 Chastre". Maße: ca. 24 x 23 x 23 cm (zusammengestellt).Dekoratives "objet d'artiste" des britisch-indischen Künstlers Anish Kapoor (geb. 1954), der insbesondere für seine großformatigen, abstrakten Skulpturen im öffentlichen Raum bekannt ist. Zu seinen populärsten Werken zählt die "Cloud Gate" (2006), eine 100 Tonnen schwere, bohnenförmige Edelstahlskulptur im Millennium Park von Chicago, die die Skyline der Stadt reflektiert und als "The Bean" bekannt ist. - Dabei: Original-Broschüre von Slegten & Toegemann. - Teils minimal berieben und fleckig.

Plattenmaße: 49 x 37 cm. Blattmaße: 55 x 40 cm. Auf Papier montiert.Robert-Dumesnil Nr. 19. - Rechts unten mit gestochenem Namen von Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer (1636-1699) sowie im linken unteren Rand mit Adresse des Verlegers Nicolas de Poilly (1627-1699). - Schöner kräftiger Abzug aus: "Livres de Plusieurs Vases de Fleurs". Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer war bereits zu Lebzeiten für seine dekorative Blumenmalerei berühmt, seine Stillleben gehören zu den schönsten Blumengraphiken des Barocks. - Das Blatt wurde ganzflächig mit dünnem Japanpapier hinterlegt, dabei wurden im linken weißen Rand wenige Einrisse restauriert, partiell etwas angeschmutzt.
