A Tibetan polychrome wood plaque of Citipati, 17th/18th century, painted with the skeleton couple on an oval base within a flaming niche, the father holding a bone stick with the right hand and blood-filled skullcap in the left hand, right foot stepping on a conch shell, the mother wearing red garment, holding a stalk of grain in the left hand and a vase in the right hand, stepping on a cowrie shell, 28cm x 19cm.Provenance: The Geoffrey and Fay Elliot collection. Purchased from Spink in1988.Citipati, or Shri Shmashana Adhipati,as a couple, are deities categorized as 'Wisdom protectors', also special protector for the Vajrayogini 'Naro Khechari' practice. They are emanations of Chakrasamvara and related to the Chakrasamvara and Vajrayogini cycles of tantra. Two Khmer Angkorian vases, circa 11th century, the first of baluster form, with incised decoration to shoulder and neck, with four loop handles to shoulder, 24cm high, the other, of bottle shape, with fluted globular body and shaped neck, covered overall in a dark brown glaze, 27cm high. (2)高棉十一世紀 瓶兩件Baluster vase: nibbling to mouth and foot, approx. 13cm wide broken off area to mouth which has been restuck with some losses.Bottle: 4.5x2.5cm u-shaped section of mouth broken off and restuck, and two further small restuck chips to the edge of the mouth.Both with firing imperfections and expected surface wear.

A Japanese twin handled bronze baluster vase, 19th century, standing on a splayed foot rising to a bulbous body and a tubulous neck flanked with a pair of handles, cast to the body with bands of archaic dragon and taotie masks, and a small repoussé decorated lobed dish in form of a lotus leaf, 25cm high. A pair of 20th vintage Century Dutch Delft hand painted porcelain chinoiserie style lidded urn vase / ginger jar. Of ovoid shape with reeded with scalloped border at the upper and bottom area. The vase is adorned with a peacock over a branch of flowers followed by different large and small flowers. Bell shaped lid (af) with blue lion figure atop. Marks to underside.
