Late Victorian Doulton baluster vase decorated with flowers on a shaded ground and with painted monogram of Edith J Gillman H25cm (drilled) - Condition Report The vase has dirt/ stains to where the light fitting once sat at the top of the vase. There are some small hairline cracks around the drill hole along with a small chip. Some small chips to the foot rim and all over crazing.

ATTRIBUTED TO THE SAINT LOUIS WORKSHOPS: A LARGE PAIR OF LITHYALIN GLASS VASES,circa 1850, of faceted ovoid form with tapering base, marbled in tones of green and brown, with a slender neck and waisted cup-shaped upper section, 34.25cm high.For a similar single vase see Sotheby's Olympia, 14th May 2003, lot 1, hammer price £3,360 Lithyalin glass is an opaque or translucent marbled glass with a surface resembling polished gemstones in a wide range of colours. It was first made by the chemist Friedrich Egermann (Bohemian, 1777-1864) in 1828 in northern Bohemia, and he patented the process in 1829. When this patent expired, similar pieces were made in France, Bohemia, China and Russia.
HOLLAND UTRECHT POTTERY VASE, polychrome painted with stylised flowers and leaves in the Art Nouveau manner, printed black and brown mark and monogram for J.W.Mijnlief, painted numeral 33.6.3 and impressed model number Mod. 72 to underside. Circa 1900. Restored chip to base(pic 4 ) H: 36.5cm.
A CHINESE BOTTLE VASE of ovoid form with flared neck, underglaze blue painted decoration of scholars and warriors, four character kangxi mark to base, 24.5cm high; and a Chinese baluster vase decorated with two boys raising a large vase, 24.5cm high (both items damages) Condition Report : extensive damage to both vases, they have each been broken and crudely re-glued. His trainer George Frederick Leader died with his wife in a car accident, on the way home from the race. Gainslaw was sold to a Polish princess and while in Poland sired a filly, Margaritka. As the Second World War came to an end, many Polish thoroughbred horses were taken to Russia. Here Margaritka succeeded in winning good races, and her second foal, Element, won many races including the Russian Derby. Element later sired Anilin, reputed to be the greatest horse to grace the Russian turf. Alfred Bright, a Liverpool cotton broker, was president of the Liver Sketching Club from 1919-1922, painting well-known racehorses of the era.
