A Chinese Sancai pottery vase, the ovoid body with short flared neck, the glaze running down leaving the lower part and the base of the vase unglazed, the underside with collector's label reading 'Malcolm Collection' and inscribed in ink 'D.79', 19.5cm highProvenance: The property of a lady, with the collector's label of Sir Neill Malcolm (1869-1953). Sir Neill was a professional soldier and collector of Chinese art. After his retirement he became president of the China Society and was an early member of the Oriental Ceramic Society.
