An elegant double-barrelled percussion gun by Lepage dating: second quarter of the 19th Century provenance: France Smooth, round, twisted, 16 mm cal. barrels, with flattened sides in the first part and gilt outlines at the centre, provided with rib with brass foresight. Tang with wide sight and floral engravings. Locks converted to percussion, with flat plate featuring floral engravings at the edge, the right one signed "Lepage", the other "a Paris", with spark arrester. Wooden half stock, the neck and the palm rest both chiselled with leaves, with the carved effigy of a deer head in the lower part of the butt, the cheek-piece is provided with a cushion covered with leather at the back; floral chiselling near the tangs. Iron mounts; trigger guard with hound, duck and vase, checkered triggers, the mount-piece with a floral plaque and rounded tip, the butt-plate en suite, on the neck a gilt shield. Horn-tipped wooden ramrod with iron cartridge extractor. dimensions: length 111,5 cm.
