Carl Thieme Potschappel, Dresden, Germany. Pair of large porcelain urns, of globular form resting on a splayed circular foot. The handles are modeled as goat's heads in a similar style as the French Sevres "vase a tetes de bouc" design. The vases are hand painted throughout with blooming flowers surrounding two scenes of figures resting in a landscape. Gilded accents decorate the urns throughout. Applied flowers decorate the bases and pierced lids. Each with an early painted TX Thieme mark along the underside, used between 1888-1901.Each; Height: 26 1/2 in x width: 14 1/2 in x depth: 12 in.

Murano vase, 1960s.Murano glass.Measurements: 37 x 24 x 23 cm.Hand blown Murano glass vase, air blown, formed by two layers of glass: a translucent red one and a white opaque one, which enhances the brightness and transparency of the exterior one. These two layers have been hot-blown together, so that they are perfectly fused without blending together, adapting perfectly to the shape that the artisan has given them.

ENRIC RIERA PIERA (active in Barcelona, second third of the 20th century).Vase in enamelled glass.Signed.Measurements: 29.5 (height) x 20 cm (largest diameter).This vase has a circular base, a flared body and a slightly curved mouth. Its surface is almost entirely enamelled, depicting intricate flowers and musical angels in bright colours.In 1934, Enric Riera founded a flourishing glassworks specialising in glass decoration in Barcelona. Many enamellers worked there (Àngel Segura Solé, who had been a decorator in Genís Cirera's company, Miquel Fruitós, Josep Martínez and Rosa Claramunt, as well as draughtsmen and decorators. They worked with glass in an exceptional way, creating striking and aesthetic designs that earned them a place in the national glass market at the beginning of the 20th century. The workshop closed its doors for good in 1962.

Bohemia, ca. 1910.Enamelled porcelain.Stamped and numbered on the reverse.Chipped at the feet on the back.Measurements: 40 x 19 x 17 cm.Central European Art Nouveau style sculptural vase, mould-made in porcelain with a structure completely defined by the decoration, showing the anti-classical intention typical of this style. This can also be seen in the naturalistic detail of the modelling work, in the soft polychromy of the undefined, lightened colours, and in the fluidity and softness of the modelling. Nevertheless, the subject derives from the classical world, specifically from Bacchic scenes, with a young woman beside a fountain with the face of a faun, surrounded by grapes and vine leaves, although it is approached from a completely Art Nouveau point of view.Ernst Wahliss (1836-1900). He was a leading Viennese retailer of porcelain and ceramic wares. His Vienna shop was established in 1863. His business was so successful that he was able to open another shop in London. In 1894, Ernst Wahliss decided to take over Alfred Stellmacher's factory in Turn-Teplitz (located in today's Czech Republic). He changed the name of the factory to Ernst Wahliss Kunst, Porzellan und Fayence Fabrik. Ernst died in 1900. Two years later, his sons, Hans and Erich, bought 600 moulds from the Imperial and Royal Porcelain Factory in Vienna. With these moulds they began to make reproductions of Vienna porcelain. In 1905, the company was renamed Alexandra Porcelain Works Ernst Wahliss. In 1907 the factory was taken over by Gerhard Martin Wahliss. In 1910, the factory focused on the production of earthenware and was temporarily closed due to World War I. In 1921, it became part of the company. In 1921 it became part of Porzellanfabrik Union AG, and in 1929 production ceased. Its pieces from the Art Nouveau period, which are close in style to the Austrian Jugendstil, are particularly well known.

Germany, early 18th century.Tender paste porcelain.It has some faults in the tendrils of the vines.It presents marks on the base.Measurements: 35 cm (height); 18 cm (largest diameter).Johann Friedrich Böttger (Schleiz 1682 - Dresden, 1719), was a German chemist and alchemist. He is known as one of the first porcelain makers in Europe. He worked in the early days of the Meissen factory. In 1707, he discovered by chance a way of making red porcelain (earthenware), from which he developed the first white porcelain made in Europe a year later.The Meissen Manufactory was the first European factory to produce genuine porcelain. Production was started by the scientist Ehrenfried Walther von Tchirnhaus in 1708, and after his untimely death his work was continued by Joahnn Friedrich Böttger, who remained virtually imprisoned on the factory premises in order to protect the secret of the porcelain formula. Meissen porcelain production began in 1710, a year after the manufactory was founded by Augustus the Strong, and soon achieved great fame throughout Europe. After an initial production in the Rococo style, which evolved towards the Neoclassical in the 1750s, the 19th century witnessed a new style known as the "second Rococo", inspired by the early productions of the manufactory, which coexisted with other historicisms, including round sculpture, mainly in enamelled porcelain, following both Rococo and Neoclassical models.
