A CHINESE BLACK-GROUND VASE DECORATED IN THE MANNER OF CORNELIS PRONK 18TH CENTURY The square-section body painted to each facet with a leafy branch of redcurrants, with a band of stylised foliage encircling the foot, 28.7cm. Cornelis Pronk (1691-1759) was a Dutch draughtsman and painter who was employed by the Dutch East India Company from 1734 until around 1740 to create designs for porcelain. A number of Pronk's designs, including the decoration on this vase, were drawn from botanical studies and prints by the Dutch-Swiss naturalist Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717). Cf. A CHINESE CELADON GU-SHAPED VASE LATE QING DYNASTY The central bulbous section finely carved with four peony blooms amongst scrolling leafy tendrils, with raised flanges forming the stems of stiff pendant leaves to the flared neck and foot, all covered in a subtle bluish-green glaze, 18.6cm. Provenance: from the collection of MME Calliope Sotirades (1910-84), who collected internationally between the 1930s and 1980s, and then bequeathed to her godson.
A CHINESE CELADON GLAZED PEAR-SHAPED VASE QING DYNASTY The exterior carved with large stylised lotus sprays beneath bands of ruyi-heads and upright pendant leaves, with two applied elephant head-shaped handles to the shoulder, all covered with a pale green glaze, the base with a six character Qianlong mark in underglaze blue, 28.7cm. A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE VASE REPUBLIC PERIOD Painted with the poet Tao Yuanming in a garden, his attendant holds a basket and points towards blossoming chrysanthemum, the tall flaring neck flanked by two archaistic handles, with an inscription reading Yuanming ai ju, the base with a four character mark reading mei shu xue xiao, 22.9cm. Provenance: from an English private collection acquired in the 1930s.

A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE 'SAN TANG YIN YUE' MOULDED BALUSTER VASE KANGXI 1662-1722 Painted with a large ship sailing towards the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon on Hangzhou's West Lake, with temples, houses and smaller boats dispersed through the rocky mountainous setting, the scene contained between bands of lappets enclosing floral sprays and landscapes, 49cm.
A LARGE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE BALUSTER VASE KANGXI 1662-1722 Painted with ladies holding flowers and parasols in a garden as pairs of birds fly above, with potted plants and large peony blooms around them, the scene contained between lappets enclosing sprays of flowers, fruit and lingzhi, with further floral motifs to the short neck, 46.7cm.
A PAIR OF CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE OVOID VASES AND A BEAKER VASE KANGXI 1662-1722 Decorated with floral and foliate sprays contained between dense bands encircling the rims and feet, two with paper labels for the Rapfungst Collection, each of the ovoid vases together with a wood stand and a later cover, 20.3cm max.
