Bible, Latin.- Biblia sacra, ad optima quaeque veteris et vulgatae translationis exemplaria... cum Hebraicorum, Caldoeorum et Graecorum nominum interpretatione, double column, title within ornate woodcut historiated border, numerous woodcut illustrations (a few full-page) by Pierre Vase, woodcut head- and tail-pieces and decorative initials, lacking final f. of index, early ink names to title, final signature loose, mostly marginal worm trace at beginning and end, a few short tears, without loss, some spotting or staining, lightly browned, contemporary ornately blind-stamped panelled vellum over wooden boards, remains of metal clasps, covers with small vignettes including John the Baptist and the Crucifixion, some loss to vellum, but binding holding firm, soiled and marked, folio, Lyon, House of Guillaume Rouillé, 1566.⁂ A handsomely illustrated edition.

Also a small firing imperfection to the body. Gilding slightly rubbed to the lid. Hadley's Worcester pot pourti vase with sections of gilding loss to the rim. Gilding on finial slightly rubbed.
