Egyptian Carnelian Perfume Container Early Dynastic Period, C. 3100 B.C. Small orange-red stone vase, finely carved from banded carnelian. Of ovoid form, tapering to a rounded, slightly pointed base, with a slight shoulder, curved rim flattened at top, and with a pair of lug handles drilled and shaped at the shoulders to allow hanging.
