A Dutch bombé bureau, the fall front revealing a fitted interior and a well, above three graduated long drawers, inlaid with a vase of flowers, birds and floral marquetry, 132 cm wide See inside front cover colour illustration Condition report Report by RB Revised estimate of £800 - £1,000, as requested by the private client. Overall pretty much as you would expect from a piece of Dutch furniture. There are several/occasional patch repairs. The top is slightly bowed, the fall front has moved and dropped on the left hand side, probably shrinkage, the hinges are much later replacements, and the lock has been played about with, the handles are replaced, the locks have been messed about with, both sides are split, general wear and tear. Overall though quite a pleasing colour. Horizontal open boards to back, mostly original, but one small section replaced, 111 cm high, back legs replaced. Oak drawer linings. Probably late 18th/early 19th century as it has a well to the interior, unable to ascertain whether the marquetry decoration is later, revised estimate of £800 - 1000
