A late 19thC Japanese Meiji period satsuma pottery vase and cover, the heavy domed lid surmounted by a gilt highlighted Dog of Fo knop, the shouldered body flanked by ring moulded handles, profusely decorated with panels of Samurai before mountains, with a raised floral decoration on a shaped foot, 55cm high.
A LARGE PAIR OF SIGNED JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD SHIBAYAMA & IVORY TUSK VASES, together with revolving fitted carved wood stands, each curving tusk section inlaid and onlaid in mother-of-pearl, coral, tortoiseshell and ivory with either a vase or a basket of flowers to one side, and a butterfly hovering above extended stream-side foliage to the other, each with an engraved and inlaid mother-of-pearl maker's mark, 16.4in high overall, the ivory itself 9.1in high.
