FINE 'MILLEFLEUR' VASE, QING OR LATER, of shouldered ovoid form with a flared neck, the body decorated in polychrome enamels with two circular panels, one containing cranes flying over and perching on a rocky outcrop jutting out from waves and the other with two birds standing on a grassy patch with flowers and rockwork beyond and insects fluttering overhead, on a millefleur ground with flowers on a gilt ground, the shoulders with blue and gilt dragons head loop handles and the interior covered in a turquoise glaze, the base with a Qianlong sealmark in red on a turquoise ground, 22cm high Provenance: William Phelps Clifford, Esq. UNUSUAL 'PUDDINGSTONE' FAMILLE ROSE VASE, QING OR LATER, of shouldered ovoid form with a flared neck, the body enamelled in polychrome to simulate "pudding-stone" and decorated with two oval panels of magpies perched amidst prunus blossom and quail nesting amidst flowers sprouting from rockwork and bamboo shoots, the shoulders with iron red and gilt dragons mask loop handles and the base painted to simulate lacquer with flowers and scrolls in gilt on a brown ground, the base with a large Qianlong sealmark in gilt on a brown ground, 21cm high. A trio of silver trophies presented at the Lawn Tennis Championships at the Uhlenhorst Club, Hamburg, in 1893,hallmarked .800, in the Arts and Crafts style, comprising a goblet, mug and vase on three ball feet, awarded for the gentlemen's doubles, gentlemen's doubles (handicap) and runner-up in the gentlemen's singles, various sizes, the tallest (goblet) 22cm.These trophies are believed to have been presented to Mr. F. K. Horley.
