A large Martin Brothers twin handled baluster form vase, the body with six circular panels, each decorated with birds, incised marks to base, shape no.290, 25.9.79, height 31cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: Sadly this lot has been broken round 8cm from the base and repaired where there is a line clearly visible. The previous owner paid £2000 for this vase.
A small Moorcroft pottery vase designed by Sian Leeper, height 11cm. This vase is sold with a note from the Moorcroft Collectors Club dated 23rd July 2007 detailing that this is a 304/4 vase by Sian Leeper, 12 of which were made in this colour with one being sent to each of the collectors that had their letter published in the "Moorcroft Memories" in the February-November 2007 newsletters. CONDITION REPORT: Good condition.
Two Shelley conical drip glaze decorated vases, each raised on spreading circular foot, printed marks to base, heights 20.5cm and 16cm. CONDITION REPORT: Some rubbing and minor abrasions to the paint, noticeable rubbing and some dirt to the rim of the taller vase, both free from chips, cracks and restoration.
A Troika double face mask decorated in shades of pale green and blue on a mottled brown ground, script marks to the interior, height 26cm. CONDITION REPORT: A section of the vase has been broken and restored. This is from the centre top of the vase and running around the top of the domed mask heads themselves and running off to the side approx a third of the way down on the side. This has been broken a relatively well restored.
A Chamberlain's Worcester vase of campana form with twin scrolled gilt handles, painted with birds in two opposing cartouches within gilt borders to the main body on dark-blue ground, above a gilt gadrooned band to a spreading circular foot and a square base painted with fruits and butterflies and with gilt sides and rim, iron red script marks to underside of the base, height 14.5cm.
A 19th century tin glazed faience jug dated 1838 and decorated with crude floral sprays (af) and a lustre twin handled vase decorated with a peacock, both unmarked, height 23cm and 18cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Faience jug has four cracks to the rim. Each are fairly fine but approx 3cm. Lustre vase has some surface rubbing but otherwise OK.
A Belleek porcelain tapering lobed vase decorated in blue relief with thorn branches, impressed marks to base, height 13.5cm, a Belleek four sectioned shell moulded vase, black printed marks to base, height 14cm and a basket weave effect small vase on naturalistic supports, black printed marks, height 8.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: The four section vase has a very tiny slither chip to one section, the lobed vase has some rubbing to the gilding, otherwise OK.
A Belleek porcelain ewer with applied floral decoration and heightened handle, black printed mark, height 15cm and a similarly decorated vase, height 15cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: The vase has a very fine hairline star crack to the neck, also tiny losses to the raised decoration as you would expect, otherwise OK.
Nine pieces of Belleek porcelain with green and black printed marks including a cornucopia, two jugs and bowls, three vases and a small dish. CONDITION REPORT: Largest vase is badly damaged. The smaller of the moulded jugs has two chips to the rim. The cornucopia has a glue repaired break to one end, otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
An Art Deco Noritake porcelain vase and cover, decorated with a stylised floral design in green, black and gilt, height 26cm CONDITION REPORT: Rubbing to gilding on finial, lid rim and foot rim, otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
A Loetz style vase, height 16cm and a Tiffany & Co style vase, height 18cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Loetz style vase has a flaw to rim running all the way round which could have been done in firing, it is not sharp to the touch so appears to have been in manufacturing. Both have some surface wear and both are unmarked.
A 19th century Bohemian blue flash and gilt heightened vase (chip to rim), a 19th century Bohemian green tinted and gilt decorated mug (cracked), a gilt heightened and ruby flash decorated vase, a pink enamel decorated vase and a gilt heightened blue glass perfume bottle (5).
A Chinese Republic period baluster vase decorated with a seated gent, height 15cm and a Chinese figure of a woman holding a broom (af). CONDITION REPORT: Vase has rubbing to the gilding at the top and some surface wear otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration. Figure has a section approx 3cm x 1.5cm chipped and crudely repaired to the base, further cracks right through her waist where it has been in a least two sections and crudely glued, also cracks round her neck.
A Chinese Cizhou bottle vase, incised decorated with branches and blossom on a brown ground, height 17cm. CONDITION REPORT: The vase is modelled ever so slightly off centre and is slightly curved, therefore in the neck, some losses to the glazing where the foot rim hits the body of the vase and some pre-glazing flaws and chips. A large Chinese Cizhou ovoid vase with stylised decoration throughout, unmarked, height 40cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are several firing flaws throughout which form small cracks. These are definitely firing flaws rather than later damage. There are surface scratches and wear throughout. From a private collection.
An early 20th century Chinese Famille Vert baluster jar and cover, with blue painted four character mark to base, height 27.5cm, a 20th century Chinese gift jar, a Canton baluster vase and cover and a another similar (4). CONDITION REPORT: Famille Vert jar and cover has some surface pitting and surface wear but free from damage and restoration. The gift jar has no cover and some wear to the extremities. The Canton vase and cover has rubbing to the gilding and surface wear, some scratches. Fourth jar and cover has a chip to the finial, surface scratches and wear etc. From a private collection.
