A DERBY VASE of shouldered form with rococo handles with flower terminals, painted with the Three Moirae and to the reverse with exotic birds in a landscape, the panels framed by gilt scrolls with tendrils and reserved on a mazzarine blue ground, 19cm h, c1760-65 Derby blue ground three piece garnitures, of which the present vase is of the central shape, represent some of the most ambitious achievements of the factory in its early years. The painting features, unusually, figures on one side and birds on the other. Formerly attributed to be Longton Hall, some examples may have been decorated in London.
