William Moorcroft for Liberty & Co, a large 'Claremont' jardiniere or bowl, circa 1905, tublined with the toadstool mushrooms against a green ground, printed Liberty mark and green facsimile signature, 20cm high, diameter of mouth of jardiniere 21.5cm (sold with all faults, for restoration) Chip to the upper rim, 3.5cm wide x 1cm deep. A large crack extending 5.5cm downwards from the rim, turning right and extending further into the main body of the vase for approximately another 14cm. Two large chips to the foot rim and two further smaller chips also the foot rim. Crazing is visible to the glaze. The interior has some staining and scratching (used for flowers), and the underside of the base has a K-shaped hairline visible.
