EMIL NOLDE, eigentl. EMIL HANSEN Nolde/Schlesw. 1867 - 1959 Seebüll: Roter Mohn und Kornblume. Aquarell um 1930/35. Signiert oben rechts. Auf leichtem Japan. 17,8 x 13,9 cm. Minimal gebräunt (nur verso am Unterrand geringfügig sichtbar) und mit schwacher Papierquetschfalte. Als Emil Nolde 1916 in das kurz zuvor erworbene Bauernhaus Utenwarf zog, inspirierte ihn dies zu einer Vielzahl von Landschaftsbildern. Seit dieser Zeit entstanden aber auch zahlreiche Blumenaquarelle, die ihren Ursprung im selbst angelegten Garten hatten. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail hatten Emil und Ada Nolde den Garten mit Klatschmohn, Sonnenblumen, Dahlien, Iris, Calla und Lilien bepflanzt. Im Laufe eines Jahres fanden sich immer wieder Blumen, die in voller Blüte standen und Eingang in seine Aquarelle fanden. Im Unterschied zu Karl Schmidt-Rottluff oder Gabriele Münter, die ihre Blumen meist in einer Vase malten, scheint Nolde sie direkt in seinem Garten festgehalten zu haben. Er malte sie in starker Nahsicht und so, wie er sie im Blumenbeet vorfand. Dabei interessierte Nolde sich nicht für das Vergehen einer Blüte und das damit verbundene Thema der Vergänglichkeit, sondern wählte grundsätzlich Blumen in voller Blüte. Mit dem farbgetränkten Aquarellpinsel zog er die einzelnen leuchtenden Blütenblätter nach, deutete die dunkle Tiefe der Kelche an und nahm dabei bewusst in Kauf, dass Unschärfen entstanden. Provenienz: Eugen Rhein (Otterberg 1884 - 1962 Kaiserslautern; Gründer der Sammlung Eugen Rhein zusammen mit seiner Ehefrau Helene). Privatsammlung Wiesbaden. Beiliegen: Foto-Expertise von Dr. Manfred Reuther, Direktor der Stiftung Seebüll Ida und Emil Nolde vom 18. Juni 2008: „...Ich bestätige, daß es eine eigenhändige Arbeit des Malers Emil Nolde (1867-1956) ist; sie ist als solche in der Nolde-Stiftung Sebüll registriert...“ - Kopie des Anschreibens von Dr. Manfred Reuther zu o.g. Foto-Expertise vom 19. Juni 2008 an den Vorbesitzer: „...Als Erstbesitzer des Aquarells nennen Sie Eugen Rhein aus Kaiserlautern. In unserem Archiv befinden sich vierzig Briefe, auch ein Foto aus seiner Wohnung mit dem Gemälde Emil Noldes 'Feuerlilien und dunkler Rittersporn' von 1925, das er 1927 erworben hat. In einem Brief vom 28. Juli 1947 erwähnt Eugen Rhein neben anderen Bildern auch 'das kleine Mohnaquarell'. Mit diesem Hinweis ist wohl Ihr Blatt gemeint.“ [bg]
