A large and fine quality Chinese famille rose baluster vase, probably Daoguang period (1821-50), finely enamelled all over with a dragon boat on a lakeshore with mountains beyond, the boat's mast with flag bearing a four character inscription, a procession of figures on the shore and in the mountains, some on horseback, the waisted neck with twin flat beast handles in gilt, 24¬in. (61.5cm.) high, extensively broken with old stapled repairs throughout the body. * Condition: The body has extensive old breaks, with stapled repairs throughout and some retouching to losses from enamelled surface along the breaks. No other damage noted. Enamelled decoration otherwise in very good condition.
