A Norman Stuart Clarke 'Plum Tree' design vase. Note: this vase was made at The London Glassblowing workshop in 1983. The design was made for an exhibition of LGW artist's work and was featured in an article by The Telegraph newspaper (a copy of the article is currently available on Ebay). The inspiration for the design was twofold, a picture by Gaugin and a particularly gnarly old plum tree at the bottom of Norman's childhood home. The Moon is a recurring theme in Norman's work; on this vase he has tried to capture the moonlight on a dark night peeping through the branches of his gnarly plum tree.
