A Fine 19th Century Dutch Rosewood and Marquetry Six Leaf Dressing Screen, richly inlaid with flowers and a vase flanked by caryatid figures, the verso inlaid with decorative panels of flowers, butterflies, parrots and assorted insects, each leaf 106cm by 50cm Generally good. Small veneer losses around edges. Some small minor splits. Most attractive side is generally good. Main problem is shrinkage, particularly on leaf 5, moulding has become detached, with small sections also missing. Fine split, approx 20cm long, on lower panel. Verso with veneer losses, particularly around arched top. Further sections of moulding missing. Minor faults to decoration and stringing. 090615
An Indian Carved Ivory and Gilt Metal Mounted Two-Handled Pedestal Vase, circa 1900, the ovoid body worked on one side with a procession of figures carrying palanquins and an elephant with howdah, by palm trees approaching a temple, on the other with a more defined view of a Hindu temple with worshippers and adherents below, with an upper open pierced spiralling floral tape design, the base with a broad band worked with fronds, leaves, a gaur skull and horns, and a sambar skull and horns, with acanthus sheathed handles and foliate decorated wrythen circular foot, 25.5cm high Metal base loose from socket of main ivory vase - this would require refixing. Some small elements of the vase carved detail are chipped, eg some leafage in the trees, palm tree leaves, but is generally very good, and the neck mount and handles are good. Very slight discolouration of the ivory. Some salt pitting to neck. 050615
An Ormolu and Marble Striking Mantel Clock, a Paris, 19th century, surmounted by a vase of flowers, floral pieced borders, red marble base, 4-1/2-inch enamel dial with Arabic numerals, twin barrel movement striking on a bell, 54cm high 16.06.15, Metal surfaces are faded, marble base is slightly faded and with small chips to edges, dial with chips and hairline cracks, movement needs cleaning, later bell.
