Aiano, London, a mahogany stick barometer: the case with chevron inlay to the sides, canted corners, a round turned cistern cover, visible mercury tube and a glazed front opening door to the brass dial, engraved with the makers name Aiano, London, having a swan-neck pediment with a brass vase finial, height 98cm. * Biography Charles Aiano is recorded as working in London from circa 1790 until at least 1820 when he moved to 91, Northgate, Canterbury in circa 1825.

A Regency burr maple veneered and inlaid drop flap work table:, bordered with ebony lines, the rosewood crossbanded hinged top with rounded corners, fitted with two short drawers and a slide for well below, on open vase shaped dual end supports with ebony roundel ornament and splayed legs, terminating in brass cappings and castors, the top 54cm (1ft 9 1/4in) x 91cm (2ft 11 3/4in) extended.
