A silver two-handled Warwick Vase,by Goldsmith and Silversmith Co., Ltd., 1912,a variant of the original design, on pedestal square base, 39cm wide, 24cm high, approximately 95oz'I built a noble greenhouse and filled it with beautiful plants. I placed in it a Vase, considered as the finest remains of Grecian Art extant for size and beauty.'So wrote George Greville, Earl of Warwick. The original marble vase had been discovered in fragments when a pool was drained at Hadrian’s Villa, Tivoli, by Gavin Hamilton c.1770 and came into the Earl of Warwick’s possession via his uncle Sir William Hamilton. It is now in the Burrell collection, Glasgow and a copy is at Warwick Castle.

Crudely re-glued and some old restorations including cover and base. Sugar bowl and cover with broken handle which has been re-stuck. Some overall minor scratches and wear.

Gilt a little rubbed, some staining particularly around handle and spout. Side plates (3) - Gilt very rubbed. Saucers (4) - All with rubbed gilt. One has bad star crack to centre, one has faint star crack to centre. Tea cups (6) - Some light rubbing to gilt. One has small chip to foot rim, one has small hair crack from rim. Coffee cups (6) - One badly restored, reglued from two pieces. One has two bad cracks to side.
