A large and impressive continental Sevres style two-handled porcelain and brass mounted vase and cover: The blue ground shouldered ovoid body reserved with two panels, one painted with cherubs in a woodland, the opposing side with a reclining maiden and cherub in attendant, within gilt scrolling foliate borders, the cover with acorn finial, on knopped spreading circular foot and canted square brass base, cast scrolling acanthus and wreath handles, H 110 cm. A Large 19th Century Chinese Famille Rose Vase: a rare and fine piece of unusually large dimensions and particularly accurate and elegant decoration. The body and neck richly enamelled with a dynamic, flowing motif of four-clawed dragons with sinuous, lightly floating bodies amidst smoothly moving clouds. The shoulders embellished with medallions containing Buddhist symbols. A delicate wave motif around the base. A key-fret band around the mouth rim and a stiff leaves band around the neck. Two moulded elephant heads applied to the neck. All emerging on a deep blue ground H 92cm CONDITION REPORT: Intact enamaling, sound condition, rings true when tapped, one firing fault on outside base rim. Shows signs of restoration around the necks.
