Ca. 3000 BC. Chinese Neolithic. A terracotta painted vase with a cylindrical neck, broad, flaring shoulders, conical body and flat base. Two applied lug handles attach below the shoulder. The body and neck are painted with a repeating wave design which runs horizontally around the vessel, while the shoulder features a net pattern. This superb example of Chinese Neolithic pottery would make a brilliant statement piece in a modern collection. Excellent condition. Comes fully authenticated with a TL test from Ralf Kotalla laboratory, Germany. Size: L:360mm / W:380mm ; 3.1kg. Provenance: Property of a London gallery, previously in old British collection formed in the 1970s.
