A Persian (Iranian) 840 silver baluster vase with flared trumpet opening, the main body with repoussé cartouches to either side; one depicting a herd of deer grazing and alert, the other depicting the herd being pounced upon by (possibly) Asiatic lions, the cartouches surrounded by finely chased and engraved detailing, the upper neck of the vase with finely detailed floral and decorative borders, the upper trumpet left in the plain 840 silver with the opening hand engraved for a First prize for ‘Tennis Teheran 1934’, Height 12 cms, Weight 262 grams (8.428 oz)Provenance: From the son of Mr Eyers; the banker to the last Shah of Persia. Condition: scratches to base as expected with age, some feint scratches to borders.
An Edwardian teapot by Samuel Johnson Ltd of Burslem, transfer printed and tinted with blue, gilt detailing (chip and nibble to rim, nibble to spout, crazed), an octagonal bowl, underglaze blue stars, rosettes etc, gilt transfer all over and overglaze gilt detailing, along with a Maling Peony Rose vase in green lustre with central lustre band of flowers in various colours (crazing) [3]
