18TH CENTURY OAK, BRASS FACED, EIGHT DAY, LONG CASE CLOCK, the face marked: Joshua Allonay, Taunton. Moulded cornice over square aperture flanked by turned pilasters, the waist with cross banded, moulded door with star inset on a panel base with bracket feet. Brass face with Roman numerals to the chapter ring and pierced foliate vase spandrels, seconds dial and date aperture. Eight day, four pillar, two train movement striking on one bell. Face 11" square, clock overall 78" high approx. CONDITION REPORT: A little dry and unloved generally, top of the hood is not as original, seconds finger and date aperture are missing. Some retouching to gilding. Panel to base is split. Restoration required. Includes two weights and pendulum.
19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT BRONZE, TWO TRAIN MANTEL CLOCK, the case overall mounted with porcelain panels, painted with domestic scenes and river landscape, and being surmounted by a large vase shaped finial over a porcelain face with Roman numerals on a step base. The base marked: John Walker, Regent St., London. French brass drum movement, striking on one bell. Overall 40cm high, approx. CONDITION REPORT: Good condition, a little grubby and dusty but no obvious damage or losses, includes key, not tested. No pendulum.
PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY CHINESE PORCELAIN BALUSTER SHAPED GINGER JARS AND COVERS in Kangxi style, decorated with reserved panels of birds amongst foliage on an overall blue scaled ground with prunus blossom. Covers with similar decoration. Underglaze concentric circle marks to bases. 26cm high approx. (2) CONDITION REPORT: One appearing good with only minor surface wear and odd nicks in places, the other has a badly broken cover which has been very basically stuck back together, the body of the vase has a chip and two extending hair cracks from the neck.
JAPANESE PORCELAIN, BARREL SHAPED, CYLINDER VASE overall painted and gilded in Satsuma style, with male and female figures in landscapes, standing on three scrolled and gilded, triangular feet. Underglaze blue signature to the inside of one foot, possibly for 'Nippon Kutani'. Late 19th/early 20th Century. 25cm high. CONDITION REPORT: No obvious damage or restoration, minor wear to gilding and surfaces in places.
LARGE DOULTON LAMBETH STONEWARE TAPERING VASE depicting birds and foliage on a brown ground within beaded and scrolled borders, impressed and incised marks to base by Florence Barlow. 57cm high. (restored) CONDITION REPORT: Extensively restored professionally after significant damage. Otherwise appears good.
PAIR OF LATE 19TH CENTURY DOULTON LAMBETH STONEWARE BALUSTER VASES decorated with flowers and foliage on a purple ground, impressed and incised marks to base initials: M.M.R (Martha M. Rogers), dated 1884. 27cm high. (2) CONDITION REPORT: Small but noticeable hairline crack to base of one vase. Otherwise appears to be no obvious damage.
EARLY 20TH CENTURY GILDED, CLASSICALLY DESIGNED, OIL LAMP with brass double burner, thumb cut clear glass reservoir on vase shaped pedestal with three applied, geometric paw feet. Pink and cranberry vaseline glass shade with clear chimney. CONDITION REPORT: Gilded finish may have been redone, no obvious damage or losses. Shade in good condition.
TWO SIMILAR LATE VICTORIAN, INLAID WALNUT, OVAL TIP TOP LOO TABLES, both having quartered veneers with foliate inlaid vase shaped designs, one having carved and moulded edge, both on multi- column bases, each with four outswept foliate carved legs on brass casters. 69 x 114 x 84cm and 72 x 120 x 87cm. (2) CONDITION REPORT: Both are in good condition with no obvious damage or significant losses.
Pair of good part silk Kashan prayer rugs, west Persia, first half 20th century, each 6ft. 11in. x 4ft. 5in. 2.11m. x 1.35m. Some surface marks in places on both rugs; both would benefit from a deep clean. Good velvety wool with silk highlights. Note the vase of flowers at the base of each mihrab, surrounded by beautifully drawn scrolling flowers on a dark red field within a dark blue main border and pale green floral guards.
