A selection of Roman glass, 1st-4th Century AD, all in pale green glass, comprising a small bowl, 5.7cm diameter, a conical unguentarium, 7cm high, an ointment pot, 5cm high, an onion-shaped juglet with a rich golden iridescence from burial, 7.5cm high, together with the neck of a Byzantine glass flask, 5th Century AD, later reduced to form a funnel and a small jug in Sidonian style, the side panels moulded with vase motifs, trailed handle and rim, 9cm. (6)/Provenance: from the Henry Sandon Study Collection CONDITION REPORT: Funnel - Exterior decoration to funnel, peeling interior with lime scale deposits. Small vase - slightly misshapen with good pontil at base, later deposit throughout interior. Flat vase - cloudy with flakey deposits to interior. Smaller bulbous vase - with small chip to neck, lime deposits inside. Shorter ewer - very badly coated otherwise in good condition. Shaped ewer - with deposits on exterior, no chipping.
Three Jasperware vases, all late 18th Century, comprising one vase and cover by Wedgwood, of egg shape with a Cupid finial, a shield shaped vase by Adams with Classical scenes including The Baptism of Cupid, 28cm, and an Adams pot-pourri vase and cover, impressed marks (5)/Provenance: from the Henry Sandon Study Collection CONDITION REPORT: Wedgwood example with Cupid finial - cover cracked into several pieces and restuck, Cupid finial also cracked and restuck, vase with deep crack from upper rim through body to the join at socle where it appears it may have been overtightened, with further hairline crack extending out from the deep crack in body.The pot-pourri vase and pierced cover- triangular shaped chip to top aperture of cover, some white misfiring to underside of cover, two small flat chips to rim of vase, two minute chips to foot/rim, possibly glued and reattached through bolt to base as small glue deposits are evident. The two-handled shield shaped vase- one handle cracked and with glued repair, further chipping and deep spreading cracks to body. Lacking cover.

The bottle vase is restored, in-filled and over painted to approx. half of the upper rim into the neck, with some typical glaze crazing, most noticeable to the underside of the base
Three Chinese porcelain vases, late Qing, 19th-20th Century, one square section with famille verte panels on a yellow ground, 30cm, together with a ginger jar, 17cm, and another vase with famille rose figure subjects, 22cm/Provenance: from the Henry Sandon Study Collection CONDITION REPORT: The yellow ground famille verte vase with drill hole to one side above footrim. A ginger jar with a forked hairline crack running from the upper rim down into the neck and into the body, some grey patches of misfiring and wear to the lower body near the border. Lacking cover. The famille rose vase chipped to the upper rim with associated hairline crack running into the upper body, minor wear to gilding and enamels.
A Nantgarw 'Mackintosh Service' dish painted with a golden pheasant, 30cm, a Nantgarw plate of Duke of Cambridge pattern, 23cm, impressed NANT-GARW CW, a selection of kiln wasters from the Nantgarw site, a pair of Rockingham botanical plates, purple Griffin marks, a Coalport inkstand with separate wells and a taperstick and a Coalport vase in Welsh style with the rare Ampersand mark, 12cm high/Provenance: from the Henry Sandon Study Collection CONDITION REPORT: The Mackintosh service dish - cracked across with old riveted repairs issuing further shorter hairline cracks, also cracked and riveted to one lobe at rim, some wear to gilding. A Nantgarw plate with green ground cracked into four pieces and poorly restuck, small old losses and areas of repainting. Both Rockingham plates with some pale discolouration to the glaze, one with a short hairline crack to rim, wear and rubbing to gilding and enamels. The Coalport taper stick with slight chipping to the upper rim, one inkpot with chipping to flange, the stand with polished chipping to one scroll handle, some wear to gilding and enamels.

The milk jug is lacking a cover, otherwise ok. The cylindrical vase is reduced at the neck and with a 1cm wide footrim chip, hairline crack to upper rim.

An important Royal Worcester vase by Harry Davis, (1885-1970) of plain, baluster shape with a small gilt neck, painted with a stag in a snow scene in experimental sunset colouring, signed H Davis, date code for 1921, 17cm high/Provenance: from the Henry Sandon Study Collection CONDITION REPORT: Overall this is in good order. There is a fingernail sized misfiring of misfiring beneath the stag where there is a small glaze fault and a white patch where the sunset colours have not fired correctly.

A pair of Austrian plated two-handled urns, one on a raised base, and both on circular mirror plateau bases,by Stephen Mayerhofer, also marked with the Imperial eagle,campana form, part-fluted decoration, the interiors with a raised vase, one on a raised circular base, with foliate borders, both on mirror plateaux, with foliate borders, on four steel paw feet, with two replacement wooden bases, height of urn 32cm, diameter of plateaux 56cm. (7)At the end of the 18th century, Stephan Mayerhofer (1772-1852) was a maker of 'silver-plated wares on iron and steel', and by 1802 was a maker of 'English plated wares', presumably in reference to the Sheffield plate system of sandwiching metal between sheets of silver. The double-headed eagle mark denoting Imperial and Royal privilege for an 'iron and metal English-plated wares factory' was awarded in 1808. The firm of Mayerhofer and Klinkosch, and later as J.C. Klinkosch, eventually rose to become Austria's leading 19th century silver and luxury goods manufacturer.
