Two depicting flowers, one with a bird, and one with a dragon.Height ranges from 5 in to 7 1/2 in; diameter ranges from 2 in to 4 in.Condition:The largest vase has a dent/chip and a small loss along the shoulder; there are numerous minute chips and areas of wear throughout this vase. The other three vases appear to be in good condition. There is wear to the metal components throughout; light wear throughout.

These press mold bottles are glazed with an iron saturate (Tenmoku) glaze, with porcelain slip applied under cobalt and iron decoration. Large 19th century Chinese famille noire porcelain vase decorated with birds on flowering branches against a black ground. Marked along the underside "Da Ming Chenghua Nian Zhi" within a double ring.Height: 23 1/2 in x diameter: 10 in.Condition:Original rim has been removed and ground down. The vase has been re-painted in black enamel and re-fired. Some evidence of enamel loss on the inside, exposing the original clear porcelain glaze. There are signs of water and iron staining on both the outside and inside. there is light wear to the footrim consistent with its age. There are no other major chips or cracks evident. The vase has been drilled along the underside.

A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota.Height: 7 3/4 in x diameter: 7 in.Condition:There is wear throughout the lid and jar, in particular along the footrim, as expected from age and use. There is a minor crack in the rim, likely caused by the lid at some point. There are several scuffs along the shoulder. There is crazing throughout the glaze where it is thick. Lid shows no cracks, chips or damage.

All painted with bright colors and geometric forms.Height ranges from 3 1/2 in to 8 1/2 in; width ranges from 7 in to 8 in; depth ranges from 4 1/4 in to 5 3/4 in.Condition:The smaller vase has a loss along the base measuring approximately 1 inch where the glaze has chipped off at the base. The larger vase and teapot are in good condition with no major chips, cracks, or losses.

Incised signature along the underside. WalkerCondition:There is a large crack extending downwards from the upper rim which curves slightly to the right as it reaches the footrim. At the beginning of this crack there is a large triangular piece which appear to have broken off and has been reattached. Several large chips along this crack: one at the rim and two along the interior. The number "48.17" is written in pen along the underside. Some plant matter affixed along the interior, which could be removed.
