WEBER-TYROL Hans (1874 Schwaz, Österreich - 1957 in Meran) "Blumenstillleben" in bauchiger Vase mit vielfarbigem Blütenstrauß, Aquarell, unten rechts signiert, 50x33cm (Blatt), PP *Provenienz: österreichische Privatsammlung, danach deutsche Privatsammlung* *Weber-Tyrol besuchte zunächst die Staatsgewerbeschule in Innsbruck in der Abteilung Kunsthandwerk. Danach war er ein Jahr in Wien als Theatermalergehilfe im Hoftheateratelier tätig bevor er 1894 nach München übersiedelte und ein Studium an der Münchner Akademie bei Gabriel von Hackl, Nikolaus Gysis und Paul Hoecker aufnahm. In den folgenden Jahren verdiente Weber seinen Unterhalt mit Dekorationsarbeiten, Kunstgewerblichem und Plakatentwürfen, wandte sich aber dann unter dem Einfluss von Joseph Wopfner mehr der Landschaftsmalerei zu. Er nahm an renommierten Ausstellungen teil und wurde Mitglied der Neuen Secession München sowie später des Deutschen Werkbundes. Nach dem 1. Weltkrieg gründete er mit dem Architekten Lois Welzenbacher die Tiroler Künstlerkammer. Er gilt als einer der großen Tiroler Maler des 20. Jahrhunderts. Seine Werke befinden sich in den öffentlichen Sammlungen der Wiener Albertina, in den Museen Bozens und Merans und im Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum.*

One handle has hairline cracks running out from the top mount, and has been overpainted. When inspected under a UV light the vase illuminates around where the handle is mounted to the body. The other handle has also been repainted, most likely to match the other, however it too may have sustained some slight damage, although no cracks are visible.

18th century Chinese blue and white vase, of square section tapering form with waisted neck and twin mask ring lug handles, decorated with a mountainous landscape populated with huts, pagoda, bridge, boats and figures, H43cmCondition Report:Generally good overall condition, with some wear commensurate with age and use, including some surface scratches. One corner of waisted neck appears to have had possible infill to small loss.One side of vase has splatters of yellow discolouration which will clean off. Inner rim has remnants of later light fitting, and base has remnants of red baize lining.

Vases may also have some possible over painting, particularly around rim. Interiors of rim are decorated in turquoise, which has dripped down the necks.
