AN IMPOSING 19th CENTURY FRENCH GILT-BRONZE MOUNTED PORCELAIN GARNITURE DE CHEMINEE, IN LOUIS XVI STYLE, the porcelain dial with Roman chapter ring signed with retailer`s name, "Silber & Fleming, London & Paris", and painted with a landscape, within a case of architectural form surmounted by an urn all mounted with Sevres-style panels within gilt cartouches against a crimson ground, the eight-day two-train movement with countwheel striking on a bell, with a pair of urns mounted and decorated en suite, all three pieces resting each on a giltwood plinth with bun feet and on ebonised bases under glass domes. Clock excluding stand and plinth 46.5cm. Condition: Very minor wear to gilding on chapter ring - in particular part of the retailer`s name rubbed at top of dial. Fine Royal Worcester urn vase (No 1482), blue floral decoration with gilt ferns, double gilt handles, swag decorated neck and gilt decorated base, 15.5cm high. Marjorie Turner was born in London in 1916. Following art school, she worked with Raphael Tuck, the publisher, who reproduced her greetings cards, calendars and an illustrated book. After the war, during which she worked in the drawing department of the Handley Page aircraft factory, she married and moved to Perthshire. From here she travelled extensively in Scotland and the north of England carrying out commissions of dogs and horses
