Dr Christopher Dresser for Linthorpe Pottery, a vase of tubular moon flask form with a central pierced foliate roundel, impressed facsimile signature incised CP stamped 42, h. 22 cm CONDITION REPORT: Crazing, small chips under the base (see pictures) No obvious visible damage
Homer. The Odyssey, [translated by T.E.Lawrence], one of 530 copies, designed by Bruce Rogers and printed on pale grey paper, title-vignette and head-pieces after Greek vase paintings printed as roundels in black on gold, some with tissue guards, a few very lightly offset, browning to front endpapers and p.[12-13], original black morocco, spine titled in gilt and with seven raised bands, t.e.g., others uncut, spine slightly faded and with scratch mark, a little marked, original slip-case (rubbed and a little worn at extremities), [Blumenthal p.128-134], 4to, printed and published by Sir Emery Walker, Wilfred Merton and Bruce Rogers, 1932. ⁂ "In the Odyssey, with complete sincerity, without tricks or accessory decoration, with a classic austerity akin to the timeless proportions of the Parthenon, with only type and paper and ink, with consummate skill, Rogers created a masterpiece." Blumenthal p.134.

Condition report: Both have some damage, see images, otherwise condition okay.
A Chinese Canton vase decorated in the famille verte style with a battle scene with equestrian warriors and foot soldiers in a rocky landscape, Chenghua mark to base, height 35cm and a Canton bowl with similar decoration between borders of diaper patterns imitating bronze, the interior with bird medallion within a band of floral scroll work, diameter 24cm. Condition report: All over crazing. A number of fining faults, no chips, cracks or restoration.
A pair of Chinese Canton porcelain vases decorated with reserve panels of figures, landscapes, peacocks, dogs of fo and flowering shrubs on a mazarin blue ground, the foot with two diaper patterns in famille rose style, height 46.5cm. Condition report: One vase in good overall condition, the other has a chip about one inch long.

An Chinese export porcelain baluster vase, decorated with figures on a path and floral sprays, height 18cm, together with a similar cylindrical vase, height 18cm, Qianlong period. Condition report: Baluster vase rim is abraded and foot is chipped. Cylindrical vase rim has a hairline crack and a chip, foot has a hairline crack and small chips. Very little wear to the gilding.
A Chinese blue and white bottle shaped vase with waisted neck and trumpet mouth, decorated with an all over pattern of prunus branches on a blue cracked ice ground, the foot with a six character vertically placed zhuanshu mark for Jiajing framed within two five claw dragons and scrolling clouds. Height 43cm. Condition report: No chips, cracks or restoration.
A Chinese flambe glazed baluster vase with slender waisted neck supporting a rimmed mouth, the flambe and blue streaked glaze of good colour, the foot with four character underglaze blue mark Jing de Zhen Zhi. Republican period. Height 16.5cm. Condition report: Small firing fault, fine all over, crazing to glaze.
