Frank Thrower for Dartington Glass, pattern FT52, 'Head' vase known as 'Ugly', which first appeared in the 1968 catalogue in three colours - Flint, Kingfisher, and Midnight, but the pattern was withdrawn after a limited production run, and are therefore now considered to be fairly uncommon. This example is further distinguished by being made in the later Cobalt Blue colourway, and very few examples in this colour are known to exist. Very scarce. 23 cm

N.B A diagrammatical only reference to this version of the large Greek Key vase, adapted in the studio for use as a jug, is shown in 'Dartington Glass - The First 20 years' (Smithson) p36. The reference states that very few of these conversions were known to have been made, and consequently are therefore considered to be 'Extremely rare'.
