A Royal Doulton vase and cover painted by Joseph Hancock circa 1910, of shouldered ovoid form, the upswept rim elaborately gilded with scrolling garlands, conforming decoration to the cover and quatrefoil base, the beaded gilt angular handles extending from the upper shoulder with solid gilt arrowhead mounts to body, the body beautifully painted with a female figure and horses in a wooded moorland landscape, signed J. Hancock, black printed mark, incised shape number 1271, impressed 9-12 12.5in. (32cm.) high, one handle and cover damaged.
