UPCHURCH POTTERY (1909-1963) A large stoneware vase from Upchurch Pottery. The vase has a thick pale blue glaze inside and out, and is stamped to the bottom CLAVERDON 1937. Height 24cm. Sold with a smaller dark blue earthenware vase by Elisabeth Bailey of Yorkshire. Height 16.5cm. Edward Baker, who had previously worked with Reginald Wells in Chelsea, was the major influence at Upchurch Pottery from 1913-1955.
