Four character mark, Painted with mountainous landscape, huts and pine trees, within scroll-moulded cell pattern borders, 15.5cm wide, the cylindrical vase decorated with figures of monks, within leaf and scroll borders, six character mark in red enamel to base, 17.5cm high (2) Overall in good order, minute wear. The vase with some wear to gilding, minor wear to enamels.

A COLLECTION OF EARLY 20TH CENTURY JAPANESE SUMIDA GAWA POTTERY. Comprising: a large mug with elephant moulded trunk handle and underglaze blue two character applied mark, 13cm high, a waisted trumpet shaped vase, a kidney shaped dish or brush washer, a cylindrical jar, a tapering oviform vase and a small shallow bowl, all moulded with figures in high relief and streaked in mottled glazes (6) The shallow bowl is extensively damaged, cracked and repaired, the relief moulded figure on the mug with some chipping and losses, some flaking to red ground throughout, some typical surface wear.

The pair with lappet-shaped panels of foliage, flowers and stylised winged beasts, on a black ground, 22cm high, the vase with flowers, butterflies and mons on a black ground, 14cm high (3) The pair: one with a large chip to lappet panel to lower body, approx. 2.5cm wide, otherwise some minor wear. The oviform jar and cover with some chipping and restoration to rim of cover and to shoulder of vase. Some minor wear overall.

The first decorated with a pheasant amongst bamboo on a sea green-blue flower pattern ground, 25.5cm high, the bronze vase decorated with gilt and silvered flowers on a marbled gilt and iridescent green/black ground, 20.5cm high (2) Cloisonne vase - with several cracks and small surface dents, neck with small losses below upper rim, neck and body slightly misshapen. The bronze vase is in good order overall with some minor wear.

The tapering oviform vase decorated with ducks before prunus on a speckled gilt ground, two character signature to reverse, 21.5cm high, the cane carved with a warrior and carp before a court lady in cartouche, 92.5cm high (2) The vase with a series of small dents at side of body, slight surface wear and scratching. The bamboo cane with some deep old splits that run up from the base towards the mid section. Some old in-filling to cracks. Some typical scratching to and wear to surface.

The charger decorated with carp amongst peony and soft foliage, with underglaze blue character marks, a Fukagawa Seiji Arita vase, circa 1960/70s and another, each decorated with peony and with printed blue character marks (3) The vase of compressed form with some wear to gilt rim, wear to printed green leaves, minute wear overall to other items, but generally of good appearance.

A JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912) BRONZE TWO-HANDLED GLOBULAR VASE. Decorated in high relief with a dragon reserved against a deep red-brown patinated ground, with dragon cast geometric handles, the interior of the foot signed, 21.5cm high Both handles are partially detached at lower terminal, with evidence of repair to the interior to one handle, this vase is lacking three feet, with old repairs to holes where feet are lacking above foot rim, small indentation and hole to lower body of vase beside a cloud, small rectangular section repair at shoulder, some slight indentations to the foot rims and extremities.

Six character seal mark of Qianlong to base in iron red. Together with a carved and pierced wood display stand. 28.5cm tall. Good overall condition with no signs of damage or repair. Stand in good condition.

Acquired in Hong Kong before returning to England, thence by descent. Two 2cm vertical hairlines at the rim. Firing cracks to underside of each handle. No signs of repairs.

A JAPANESE PORCELAIN VASE, MAKUZU KOZAN (1842-1916). Of ovoid form finely decorated featuring crabs and various seashells including abalone, conch, clam and scallop on a graduating pale green ground. Signed 'Makuzu Gama Kozan sei' in underglaze blue. 23cm tall. Meiji period (1868-1912). Provenance: Acquired in Bonhams Fine Japanese Art sale in 2009. As purchased from Bonhams with a small repair to the rim. The repair however is very good and not noticeable.

Triangular section of loss to rim measuring about 4cm across. Another chip and hairline to rim. From the garlic mouth down the condition is good. No repairs to note.

Each decorated with scenes of warriors and figures in a courtyard setting on a blue ground with gilt floral motifs. 38cm tall. (2) 3cm firing fault to the rim of one. Some areas of gilt loss to body. Faint hairlines to one vase base.

A RARE CHINESE BLUE GLAZED AND GILT DECORATED PORCELAIN VASE, 18TH CENTURY. Pear shaped bottle on splayed foot with an open crescent shaped mouth, with gilt floral decoration. Probably Kangxi period (1662-1722), made for the Islamic market. 30cm tall. Two similar vessels with spouts as ewers but similar shaped and decorated, are in The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Accession Numbers 775-1888 and 1674-1876, and are published by Kerr and Mengoni, Chinese Export Ceramics, V&A Publishing, London, 2011, p. 111, pl. 158. Good overall condition with no signs of damage or repair. Wear and rubbing to the gilt decoration which has almost disappeared but traces are left.
