A late 19th/early 20th century Chinese bronze vase of archaistic form and a pair of bronzed Japanese vases decorated with birds amongst branches, heights 18.25cm and 24.25cm (3).Additional InformationThe Chinese vase has a dent to the body, general surface wear and discolouration where the ring loop handles have rubbed over time, signs of heavy wear to the interior.  The Japanese vase has small dents and chips throughout, one larger dent to the shoulder of one, slightly misshapen pierced handles and rims. General surface wear.

The second case with further condition issues, splits to ivory on both sides, further heavy wear and tear. Will need attention.

A large early/mid-20th century Japanese cylindrical vase profusely decorated in enamels with figural panels and stylised detail, raised on three feet, two marks to base, height 41cm, and four later examples (5).Additional InformationThe large cyclindrical vase there are numerous firing cracks throughout most notably to the base and numerous areas.  Some of the apparent filler crazed throughout, fairly heavy rubbing to the enamel and gilt decoration in places. The vase did have twin handles which have both been broken off leaving unsightly blemishes.

This vase has one very loose handle, both with extensive rubbing to the patinated finish as well as quite heavy abraisons and wear to expose corners, edges and relief detail.  Further scratches, nicks, pitting and build up of dirt and dust throughout, some fixtures loose

The same vase with some bruises to the lower section, some light pitting.

Five pieces of late 19th/early 20th century Chinese blue and white decorated porcelain comprising sleeve vase (badly af), height 36cm, baluster vase (badly af), ginger jar (lacking lid), bud vase (af) and saucer (badly af) (5).Additional InformationSleeve vase quite obviously badly damaged with large chip to rim, large spreading crack. The baluster vase also similar damage, the ginger jar lacking lid as stated, heavy surface pitting and glaze inclusions. The saucer again badly chipped to the rim and the bud vase also with hairline crack.

A 19th century Chinese miniature porcelain toy/doll's tea set, jug and two vases, floral painted in underglaze blue with white metal mounts, unmarked, and a further miniature vase with Artemisia leaf to base (badly af), height 7.7cm.Additional InformationThe last mentioned vase cracked throughout, otherwise some scratches, surface scuffs and marks, indents and tarnish to white metal, pitting and fritting, particularly to foot rims.

Eight pieces of late 19th/early 20th century Chinese blue and white porcelain, all decorated with prunus, comprising temple jar and cover, ginger jars and covers, double gourd vase, height of largest example 30cm, various marks including double ring marks to base.Additional InformationTemple jar and cover, the jar with large cracks running down the neck, cover with chipping to the rim, larger ginger jar, the cover has been broken in two and crudely glued back together, one of the smaller lidded jars with flat chip to rim, general surface wear throughout, light scratches. 

Lot 47

A 19th century Chinese porcelain six division tulip vase painted in underglaze blue with martial scene featuring figures on horseback and infantrymen with swords and shield between bands of ruyi and lappets, with further floral detail, unmarked, approx 24 x 19cm.Additional InformationThere is some bubbling to glaze and further manufacturing imperfection, some fritting especially to foot rim, some light general wear. The corner of one of the lower divisions has been knocked with resulting glaze loss, a small visible firing crack to neck interior, otherwise appears to be free from any major damage or restoration.

A 20th century Chinese porcelain moon flask with reticulated panels to both sides, relief lotus scroll and shou character detail to body above lappet band to oval foot, unmarked, height 26cm, a small baluster vase painted in underglaze blue, two enamelled vases and a tea bowl, also a Japanese floral decorated vase and a pair of Kakeimon palate tea bowls, both marked to bases (8).Additional InformationMoon flask crazed throughout, rubbing to gilt detail, blue and white vase with heavy pitting and certain glaze inclusions, further rubbing to enamel decoration throughout, the Japanese globular vase with chip to rim.

Three Chinese Qingbai (or Yingqing) stoneware funerary urns, all with applied moulded detail featuring figures and chilongs, the two taller Song/Yuan dynasty, the smaller Tang dynasty, one with lid, height of tallest 66cm (3).Additional InformationOnly one has a lid, as stated, the vase with the lid has a large chip to the rim there are firing cracks from manufacturing, some chips and losses commensurate with age and use, build up of dirt and dust, surface scuffs, scratches, marks and abrasions, some chips to the crimped rims of the two taller examples, the smaller example with more significant chips to the moulded decoration and including to the left tendril of the ***chi long*** as well as some of his appendages and he has lost his left with with a crude replacement.

Lot 51

A 20th century Chinese lidded porcelain vase/vessel with twin gilt mask and loop handles featuring twin panels with birds amongst flowers against bands of enamelled floral sprays on pink, light blue and yellow grounds, apocryphal six character Qianlong mark in underglaze blue to base, approx 23 x 22cm.Additional InformationMinimal surface wear, wear to gilding, but good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.

A Chinese Han dynasty cocoon vase on cylindrical foot, 22 x 24cm.Additional InformationHas lost the painted detail, general scuffs, scrapes and abrasions commensurate with age and use, however free from major damage, some firing cracks.

A mid-19th century Chinese Canton Famille Rose porcelain twin handled vase, painted with figures in court and garden scenes within panels set between floral sprays and birds, height 63cm (af).Additional InformationBoth of the handles have been broken off and restored and repainted, otherwise general surface scratches, some losses of the paintwork of the green interior, but overall okay.
