Large 19th century pair of Oriental crackle glaze bulbous vases with applied dragons and painted panels. Together with a similar jar and cover (A/F) CONDITION REPORT; Each vase measures approximately 35cm. They both display some firing imperfections and pitting but no visible damage. The jar measures approximately 28cm high. It has damage to the finial on the cover and a chip to the rim. Pitting throughout. No marks to any piece

This trial piece in particular resembles the Chang pieces produced by Doulton
A Rookwood Pottery, Iris glaze vase by Albert Robert Valentien, circa 1900, with thistles on a graduated green to yellow pastel ground, incised potters signature 'A R Valentien' and Rookwood mark, 907 D, 27cm high Note: Albert Valentien joined the American Arts and Crafts pottery of Rookwood in 1881 becoming one of the firm's top decorators. He left in 1905 to pursue a career in fine art.
