Chinese 'Deco' carpet, Tianjin, north west China, circa 1930s, 14ft. 6in. X 11ft. 1in. 4.42m. x 3.38m. Some wear in places with white warp threads showing through; a few surface marks. The mauve field faded to a beige/grey with central dark blue floral spray; wide deep yellow main border with vase of flowers in opposing corners; flowers, foliage and hanging lamp in one corner; butterflies in the opposite corner; the border with flowers, butterflies and buddhist emblems. The term 'Deco' in relation to Tianjin carpets of the 1930s refers not so much to the design but more to a very distinctive palette. Bright palette; robust handle.
Mashad carpet with inscription, Khorasan, north east Persia, circa 1920s, 13ft. 10in. X 10ft. 4in. 4.22m. X 3.15m. Few small spots of old moth damage at the lower end. Velcro strips for underlay in places verso. Inscription cartouche in outer guard at the top end. Pink/red cartouche shape field with indigo, pale blue, ivory and pale green centre medallion; the spandrels banded in dark blue, ivory and pale blue with a single dark blue vase in each corner; all over racemes of flowers and foliage; dark blue main border; pale blue and ivory floral guards. A very pretty carpet with close clipped velvety wool and medium handle.

VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Large plate is very good condition with tiny frits only. Smaller plates all have frits and some chips. Two handled pot has hair crack and frits. Large cup/saucer has bad glaze loss and fits. Small cup/saucer badly chipped with frits. Vase has had neck reduced and has firts and small chips. (10 items not 11)
GROUP OF 18TH CENTURY AND LATER TIN GLAZED DELFT WARES to include: tankard of wrythen baluster form; pair of twin handled, lidded vases and fox decorated twin handled vase. (4)(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Tankard - chips and nibbles to both rims. Two cracks, one 'X' shaped, the other around 6 inches in body. Overall crazed. Pair vases - Minor nibbles to rims on lids. Firing flaws. No obvious significant damage. Lids may not be original. Fox vase - Nibbles and frits to handles and rims. Unmarked.
GROUP OF ASSORTED, MAINLY, DELFT TIN GLAZED ITEMS, 19TH CENTURY AND LATER, to include: various blue and white, Imari and floral plates, together with two jugs, including one sparrow beak jug and one bottle vase. (10)(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: All plates have minor frits but no chips or cracks. Bottle vase - has rim frits only. Baluster jug (pearlware) is in good condition. Sparrow beak jug is in good condition with minor frits only. Tiny chip to spout. (10 items not 12)
Fine Ruskin Art Pottery cylinder vase with overall Sang de Boeuf running high fired glaze, baluster shaped base tapering to the neck, impressed marks: 'Ruskin, England, 1933'. 27cm high approximately.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Minor surface wear but no obvious damage.
EARLY 18TH CENTURY ENGLISH DELFT POTTERY TWO HANDLED URN SHAPED VASE of tapering cylindrical form with crimped neck and rope twist handles, on a slightly flared base. Overall painted in underglaze blue with bands of anthemion leaves and scroll work around a central band of stylised heron type birds, insects and floral designs. (Probably Bristol). 22cms high, 19cms diameter. CONDITION REPORT: Badly damaged, to include large rim chip, many small frit, band of missing glaze to the body, losses to glaze on handles, significant crack through the body, number of large chips around base rim with many glaze frits. Sold on behalf of a local small church, hopefully to raise funds to restore a small war memorial to lost soldiers in the First World War.
EARLY 20TH CENTURY MARTIN BROTHERS ART NOUVEAU DESIGN STONEWARE POTTERY GLOBULAR VASE overall decorated with slipper orchids, incised marks to base: Martin Brothers, London and Southall, 1903. 13.5cm high.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Appears to be in good overall condition, crazing overall, as expected, no significant damage, marks to base are clear, some surface wear.
PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERY SPILL VASES in the form of a horse and recumbent foal on a naturalistic base, standing at the edge of a stream, 20.5cm high approx. (2)(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: No obvious major damage, paint loss and fritting to paint around vase opening, overall crazing throughout and one particular firing crack to inside of vase, minor fritting to extremities, but otherwise appear okay.
