London Underground - a scarce 1935 quad royal sized 'bubble' map of the London Underground, each station noted within a bubble, showing the station and its nearby roads. 'Central Area And Surrounding Streets.' The design borrows from Harry Beck's tube map of 1933, but shows only the central stations in a more geographically accurate manner, opposed to the 'circuit' design of Beck's original. Edward Stanford Ltd printers noted to corner. Folded, some wear to the folds - notably on the left-hand side, but generally displays well. 40x50", approx. Believed to have only been printed in a very limited quantity for only one run, in early 1935.

An original WWI First World War Death Plaque / Commemorative Plaque for one Robert John Jarvis. KIA during the first few days of the German Spring Offensive, in March 1918. Along with a photograph of Jarvis' grave at a War Cemetery.  Robert John Jarvis was born in the 1st quarter of 1898 at Uphill, near Weston super Mare, the son of Robert William Jarvis and Mary Ellen Jarvis (née Marshall). He first features in the 1901 Census, when he was three years old and one of two children living with the family at Uphill. By the time of the 1911 Census, Robert John Jarvis was thirteen years old and at school. The family were still living at Uphill (2 Arch Villa).... (he was) The third Somerset bellringer to die during the Kaiserschlacht. 307300 Private Robert John Jarvis of the 2/7th Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment), who died of wounds on the 24th March 1918, aged 20. Jarvis was also a bellringer at Uphill (Somerset) and a member of the Bath and Wells Diocesan Association of Change Ringers. Private Robert John Jarvis died of wounds on the 24th March 1918, aged 20. He is now buried in London Cemetery, Neuville-Vitasse, south of Arras. The CWGC records available on their website show that the body of Private Jarvis was one of many graves that were concentrated at London Cemetery after the end of the war.
