Bivalviae... autograph manuscript in both hands most Mounsey 31pp. in ink and 1p. and notes in ?Crabbe`s hand in pencil pen and ink map of “Map of a few miles round Bottesford” and 87 pages of pencil drawings of fossils some ff. torn and repaired slightly browned later front endpaper loose with printed label of The Conchological Society of Great Britain and Ireland later morocco extensively rubbed lacks upper cover small 4to [c.1780s - 90s]. *** William Mounsey numbers among the very few eighteenth century systematic palaeontologists and this manuscript must be a particularly early example of of this type of work. The fossils figured are mostly Jurassic vertebrates ammonites gastropods bivalves belemnites etc. but there are some Rhaetian fossils and a few which must come from the drift.
