This copy appears to have derived from a series of parts published in sequence, an original cover of which is bound in near the beginning of the volume. Scarce. Dunston G. : The Rivers of Axholme, with a History of the Navigable Rivers and Canals of the District, Nd. C.1900. Qto. Portrait frontis, 3 fldg. maps, folding chart of strata identified in bore-hole investigations, one plate. Together with 2 folding maps of Lincolnshire : White's County Map in a folder and one other map dated 1849, engraved title, h/c in outline. CONDITION REPORT: Isle of Axholme has been bound at some point early in its existence although the outer cover has been crudely repaired and is loose. One of the folding maps has marked staining and there are some adhesive tape repairs to the verso. There are some stains to the inner margins of some pages otherwise the remaining text block, maps and plates etc are vg. Rivers - vg. White's map has selotape repairs

Sectionalised and linen backed hand-coloured, engraved map also featuring 24 engraved vignette annotated views of the city along the upper and lower margins. Scarce. Together with: Fry H. : London in 1887 - Illustrated by 18 Brid's-Eye Views of the Principal Streets, 1887. Small 8vo. original linen backed flexible binding. Double page engraved plates together with textual commentary and contemporary advertisements. Scarce. Please see additional images and condition report below CONDITION REPORT: Map - the linen verso is marked and worn with small gaps appearing between the sections. The recto with map is a little dulled with some minor marks but generally in vg condition considering the slip case is no longer present - certainly capable of restoration and presentation. The book's cover is worn, discoloured and creased at some corners but otherwise legible and intact. The text block is a little slack but no loose pages, clean and bright.
