ChinaMap1683 hand coloured map of China (228x183mm) Imperium Sinicum Quindecupartitum by Joh. Vanden Twele. This rare map is a reduced version of Kircher's map of China, printed in 1667. The cartouche features a Chinese hunter with a hawk and a seated Chinese lady holding a fan. The map is rejoined down the centre and there is a small repair. Exceptionally fresh and this rare, early map would make an ideal frontispiece to any collection of China. Photo

(Kwong-Tung Yueh-Han), certificate for 5 yuan shares, 1914, very attractive piece with vignette of large station building in centre flanked by vignettes of steam engine & tender and passenger carriages, a detailed map of the railway below, blue, red and yellow, text all in Chinese but if you look closely the company name is in English on the locomotives' tender, with counterfoil and original envelope, very fine and scarce. AFTER JOHN OGILBY "The road from Bristol to Banbury", a strip map, coloured engraving, together with AFTER ROBERT MORDEN "Oxfordshire", a coloured engraved map CONDITION REPORTS "Oxfordshire" map - fold/crease is horizontal, map overall with some creases, undulations and slight discolouring but generally appears OK, appears to be an 18th century edition. Ogilby map - very browned, stained and discoloured and has some small tears to edges and various creasing, wear, etc., has a vertical fold/crease to centre, plate marks/indentations are visible to both maps.
