Lyon G. : The Private Journal, 1824. 1st.Ed. 8vo. Contemp. qtr. marbled boards. Engraved frontis, folding engraved map and six engraved plates. Narrative relating to Captain W.Parry's Expedition to discover a North-West Passage. Author's record of the second Parry expedition to Canadian Arctic waters in the Fury and Hecla, 1821-23. Almost the entire volume is devoted to the narration of the peculiarities of the Aborigines of the Arctic regions. Lyon's drawings were also used to illustrate Parry's Second Voyage. CONDITION REPORT: Boards det. requiring some restoration and repair but complete.

Philip `Nobby` Nolan, his group of four medals, comprising; War & Defence Medals and 1939-45 and France & Germany Stars, together with a silver wings brooch, two log books detailing his service in Typhoons of 168 Squadron towards the end of the war after training, culminating in 181 Squadron, Service & Release Book, a silk escape map, his old RAF scarf, also to include his wife Mary`s WAAF War & Defence Medals (they met at an all ranks dance in Barrow-in-Furness during the war when Mary was already an officer, he still a flight sergeant and became engaged as soon as Philip was commissioned)
