Coloured, Embracing the whole of East and Central Africa, from the Egyptian border in the North to Mozambique in the south, 19 by 15 inches, with a finely coloured cartouche depicting a native family sheltering from a fierce sun beneath a pair of scarlet parasols; elephants, monkeys and ostriches completing the decoration; [No.106 in 'Decorative Maps of Africa up to 1800, 'Johannesburg, 1952'] Has letter to the back detailing the maps information.

A George III Oak Glazed Bookcase, the lower section with two cupboard doors opening to reveal map draws, 167cm by 65cm by 262cmAll major panels to the top and the base with splits. No shelves to the top section. The base section is fitted with long pine drawers which are running freely. Left side base lacking plinth moulding. Polish is heavily worn, scuffed and faded throughout. Some water marks around the base. Overall structurally sits well, functions and with original glass. There is no key. The bookcase splits into two sections.
