Cooper, at the Globe in Pater-Noster-Row, [c. 1745].⁂ A Dutch broadside after an English broadside published by Cooper, satirising Cardinal Fleury (1653-1743), chief minister of Louis XV of France and other European heads of states and politicians prior to their march against Prague. The etching showing the interior of a room, at its centre a table with a map of Europe, surrounded by various heads of state and politicians pointing at certain areas. In mid-1741 France, Spain, Bavaria and Prussia forged an alliance, in which they promised each other support in exchange to the rights of certain territories conquered from the Austrian forces. In the same year the allied forces marched against Prague, which was stormed by the French in November 1741.

French General Jean Ferrand (1736-1805) initially refused to comply when his superior ordered he surrender, but eventually, after a two-month long siege, he was forced to capitulate. Wordsworth (William) A Description of the Scenery of the Lakes in the North of England, London: Longman, Hurst Rees, Orme and Brown, 1822, 16mo, Third edition published separately, marbled boards over green gilt-tooled leather binding by Potter & Sons of York, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, fold-out map facing title page, inscribed in pencil William Wordsworth Esq and annotated to end paper and with a pencil sketch by an anonymous hand entitled 'Leaving Derwentwater' CONDITION REPORT: Generally good condition overall, with some rubbing and general wear and fading to the binding. Some foxing to the fold-out map, with inch-long horizontal tear to one of the folds. Aside from this, there is general internal foxing consistent with age.
