Munster (Sebastian), Typus Orbis Universalis, published Heinrich Petri, Basel, [1550 -1572], hand-coloured woodcut map, the margins decorated with clouds and numerous wind heads, margins with several closed tears and slight fraying, but skillfully repaired on verso, the whole backed with archival tissue, 275 x 385 mm, Latin text on verso, mounted QTY: (1)NOTE:R. W. Shirley. The Mapping of the World, number 92. The second state of Munster's world map. Identifiable by the initials DK in the lower left corner (the woodcutter David Kandel) and the titles of the wind heads now being on banners. 'Typus Orbis Universalis' replaced the Ptolemaic world map used in previous editions (see Shirley 77). Twelve wind heads decorate the margins and sea monsters cavort in the southern oceans. This is the first map to name the Pacific Ocean 'Mare Pacificum' and North America is called 'Terra Florida'. This second world map by Munster was used for a large number of editions of the Cosmographia and can be found with French, German, Latin and Italian text. The last edition to use Latin was published in 1572.

His son Benjamin, advertised the 'cure' in various periodicals between 1798 and 1802. The cartoon shows Dr Perkins applying his invention to the boils on the nose of a citizen possibly intended to represent John Bull. The lean detached physician is contrasted with the stout and highly distressed patient undergoing 'therapy'. The second item shows five gluttonous Germans dining enthusiastically at Weyler's in Castle Street in Leicester Square. Weyler was born in Vienna and at his establishment sauerkraut and sausages were always to be had.
